Stamtafelgesprek Internet of Things day, 9 April, 2015

9 April is het Internet of Things day.

Call for artists. Installations and sculptures for Noorderlicht 2015 “Data Rush”

The 2015 edition of the international photofestival Noorderlicht will be held in Groningen, from August to October 2015. The theme of the festival is “Data Rush”, exploring the tension between freedom and control, privacy and surveillance, in the virtual world.

WAMS is curating a part of this festival to establish an exhibition of installations and sculptures alongside the main photographic exhibition. WAMS will also organise several academic lectures and debates exploring the theme from a scientific perspective. The final goal is to stimulate a dialogue between art, science and the audience.

We are therefore calling upon artists whose work reflects on the issues described in the detailed call for submissions (available here).
Artists are invited to submit relevant portfolios. Submissions and suggestions of artists are welcome from across the globe. These can be sent to Gea Smidt at geasmidt@xs4all.nl. Submissions are due April 15, 2015.
